Well Child
Filling taxes with a grandchild and father thats has not support the child wanting to claim him as well?

i have a one year old son im only 19 i gave my mother the permission to claim me and my sonas a dependent since i wasnt working and since shes also supporting me and my son and living in her house…..i had recently lost my sons social security card and i just found out the father stole it and claim my child as well hes not supporting my child but my child has his last name..can my mom get in trouble for claiming my son?

Your son’s father can’t claim him since the child did not live with him for more than 6 months.
Your mother and your son’s father will both receive letters from IRS. One will have to file amended return. IRS will decide who can claim it. Your son’s father will have to amend his tax return.
