What anti-malaria pill is the smallest in size?
I am scared to death of swallowing pills but I need to take anti-malaria pills for a potential trip I may be going on. What is the smallest anti-malaria pill in size that you know of?
Hi “pretty thing” – My favorite and the smallest anti-malarial pill which I take for my travels to India and Africa is mefloquine. Mefloquine (“Lariam”) is the most widely used anti-malaria drug. The pills are generally started a week or two before arrival in the risk area. Malaria pills may be taken once a week while you are at risk, and for four to six weeks after you leave a malarious area. If you stop taking pills too soon, you will increase the chances of getting full-blown malaria.
A newcomer is Malarone, which can be taken just 24 hours before starting the trip.
